The front channel side of this expansion joint has two bellows, it absorbs the horizontal displacement from the elbow pipe section; there’s one balanced bellow in the back of balance side, it can absorb axial displacement from the straight pipe. When there’s lateral displacement from the elbow pipe, the spherical nut which on large rod rotate around the spherical washer, and the large rod can endure the internal pressure thrust, so the expansion joint is commonly used in pumps, tanks, compressors, steam turbine at the exit ,in order to reduce force of the above equipments.
